Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before your dog's stay.

General & Booking

How is the total price calculated?

Your price is calculated automatically as you pick dates β€” here's everything that can affect it:

  • Base rate: $78/night for your first dog.
  • Additional dogs: $68/night each for every dog beyond the first β€” boarding multiple dogs together is discounted, not charged at the full rate per dog.
  • Puppy rate: dogs under 12 months old have a +20% surcharge added to their nightly rate.
  • Long-stay discount: 14+ nights β†’ 5% off, 21+ nights β†’ 10% off β€” applied automatically, no code needed.
  • Holiday surcharge β€” applied automatically to any night that falls in one of these windows:
    • Columbus Day (Oct 12): +20%
    • Veterans Day (Nov 11): +20%
    • Thanksgiving Day (Nov 25–Nov 30): +20%
    • Christmas Day (Dec 24–Dec 31): +20%
    • New Year 2026-27 (Dec 31–Jan 2): +20%
  • Extended care: if your requested pick-up time is 4+ hours later in the day than your drop-off time, that covers extra hours of care that day β€” 50% of the nightly rate for 4+ hours, 100% for 8+ hours. (This is separate from arriving late to your own scheduled pick-up time β€” just reach out if that happens.)
  • Add-ons: optional extras (bath, walks, etc.) are added on top, shown individually.

The full breakdown β€” including exactly which of these apply β€” is shown live on the booking page before you pay, so there are never surprise charges.

How do I book a long-term stay (e.g., 10 or 20 days)?

It's simple β€” just pick the number of nights you need directly from our booking page. The discount is calculated automatically and applied to your price, no matter how long the stay β€” no coupon codes, combinations, or contacting us needed:

  • 14+ nights β†’ 5% off your entire stay
  • 21+ nights β†’ 10% off your entire stay

Is there a minimum or maximum stay?

We welcome everything from overnight stays to long-term boarding. For new clients, we do require a "Meet & Greet" (Temperament Evaluation) before your first booking to ensure your pup is a good fit for our small pack.

Meet & Greet

What is the "Meet & Greet"?

This is a short meeting where your dog meets our resident dog, Mochi. It allows us to observe your dog's social style in a controlled, home environment to ensure a safe and happy experience for everyone.

Is the Meet & Greet fee refundable if my dog doesn't pass?

No, the Meet & Greet fee is non-refundable if we determine your dog isn't a good fit for our small pack. If your dog does pass, the fee is automatically credited toward your first real boarding or daycare booking.

Can I book boarding or daycare before the Meet & Greet?

Yes β€” you can book right away, but a first-time booking is held for approval until your dog's Meet & Greet is confirmed as a good fit. If you paid by card, we authorize the hold but don't charge it until your booking is approved; if it's not approved, the hold is released with no charge and no fee.

The Experience

What will my dog do during their stay?

  • Social Play: Supervised interaction with a small, curated group of friendly dogs.
  • Outdoor Time: Frequent access to our secure yard for fresh air and "zoomies."
  • Personalized Attention: We keep our boarding group small, so we have plenty of time for individual cuddles and belly rubs.
  • Decompression: Quiet rest periods with soothing music to prevent over-stimulation.
  • Evening Lounging: Our boarders spend their evenings in our living area β€” feeling like part of the family, not like they are in a kennel.

How many dogs are on-site?

To maintain a calm and boutique experience, we intentionally keep our boarding group small each night. This allows us to monitor every interaction closely and provide a high level of care.

Food & Health

Do I need to bring food?

Yes. To prevent tummy upset, please provide your dog's regular food for the duration of their stay. We recommend pre-portioning meals in bags or providing clear instructions for our feeding routine.

What if my dog requires medication?

We are happy to administer oral or topical medications at no extra charge. Please provide clear written instructions and ensure all medication is in its original packaging.

What are your vaccination requirements?

For the safety of the pack, all guests must be up-to-date on Rabies, Distemper (DHPP), and Bordetella. Proof of vaccination is required during the booking process.

Drop-off & Pick-up

What are your standard hours?

Standard Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM.

Daycare

You can add Early Bird drop-off (from 6:00 AM) or Night Owl pick-up (until 9:00 PM) to any day, for $5.00 and $10.00. The Flex Hours packages include both.

Boarding

There are no add-ons to buy β€” just let us know the drop-off and pick-up times you need when you book, and we'll arrange it with you.

All bookings are by appointment.

What should I bring for a boarding stay?

Aside from food, feel free to bring a small blanket or a favorite toy that smells like home. We provide comfortable beds and clean bowls, so there is no need to bring bulky bedding!

Changes & Payment

What if my dates change?

No problem β€” you can reschedule your booking directly through your account. Log in, find your booking, and contact us at (510) 707-6878 and we'll be happy to help.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept credit/debit card (via Stripe), Zelle, and Venmo. Payment details for Zelle/Venmo are provided after your booking is confirmed.

Can I cancel a daycare package? Do I get a refund?

Yes β€” you can cancel a daycare package any time from your account. Only unused sessions are refundable (sessions already used aren't, since that care was already provided):

  • Cancel within 24 hours of purchase β†’ full refund of your unused sessions.
  • Cancel within 48 hours of purchase β†’ 50% refund of your unused sessions.
  • After that β†’ no refund, but any unused sessions are simply forfeited (no further charge).

Card purchases are refunded automatically to your original payment method. Zelle/cash purchases are refunded manually β€” just reach out at (510) 707-6878.

What if I'm late picking up my dog? (Boarding)

We get it β€” life happens. There's a 30-minute grace period after your scheduled pick-up time with no charge. After that:

  • 30–60 min late β†’ $10.00
  • 60–240 min late β†’ $20.00
  • More than 4.0 hours late β†’ charged for an extra night instead of a fee.

Boarding clients also get up to 3 free passes per year that automatically waive one of the smaller fees above (not the extra-night charge) β€” so being a few minutes late once in a while won't cost you anything. Daycare pick-ups don't have free passes β€” see below.

This fee is collected separately (Zelle/cash), not through your original payment. If you know you'll be late, just call or text us at (510) 707-6878 β€” we'd rather know in advance.

What if I'm late picking up from daycare?

Daycare works differently from boarding, because a late pick-up keeps us working past closing:

  • First 30 minutes past your pick-up time β€” no charge.
  • After that, a flat $15.00 β€” the same whether you're 40 minutes or two hours late.
  • After 9:00 PM we can't send your dog home for the night, so the day becomes an overnight stay at $78.00 instead of the late fee.

Booked a Night Owl pick-up? Your 9:00 PM pick-up still gets the same 30 minutes, so you have until 9:30 PM. After that it becomes an overnight stay at $78.00.

There are no free passes for daycare. The 3 free passes a year apply to boarding only.

Please call or text (510) 707-6878 as soon as you know you'll be late β€” we'd much rather hear from you than wonder.

Cancellation Policy

Full refund if cancelled 48+ hours before check-in. 50% refund if cancelled 24-48 hours before. No refund within 24 hours.
